Learning to report accurately and to write precisely and vigorously are no simple tasks. The young man or woman who would join the ranks of journalists must learn and then put into practice principles and concepts that have been developed over the years by practitioners who understand first, that truth is elusive and second, that its capture on paper require mastery of a demanding discipline.
