What Is Going On?

In all things of nature, there is something of the marvelous. — Aristotle (taken from a tea bag tab)

Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul … there is no need to be afraid. — Matthew 10: 28a, 31a

All alone you’re just another brick in the wall. — From Pink Floyd’s best-known song

The times they are a-changin’. — From one of Bob Dylan’s best-known songs

–   –   –

What is really going on, anyway?

Some of the elements of at least the surface of what is going on are readily available in newspapers and on the radio and on TV, with plentiful commentary by paid professional commentators. A lot of it is extraordinarily well done, and it is easy for people in their target audiences to rely solely on it for their views of what is going on, which is intended.

Then there’s the Internet, with most of the above available there, too, along with a range of news and views from other sources, a lot of the latter being rarely available in newspapers or on the radio or TV. If one tried to take in even the best of what’s available in newspapers and on radio and on TV, that would preclude going to these other sources.

Last night, I took well over an hour to listen to and watch a conversation, HERE, in which both participants give voice to information about the environmental movement and related organized activities that most people likely have zero awareness of. I won’t attempt to summarize the conversation but do recommend that visitors to this blog set aside an hour or two to do it justice.

Here’s an intro by Mark Crispin Miller of News From Underground, which alerted me to the conversation—he titled it it “Cory Morningstar on how the ‘climate movement’ and the ‘Green New Deal,’ are really all about DESTROYING nature”:

“Millions of well-meaning people, especially the young, have been adeptly played by mighty interests looking to realize the “Fourth Industrial Revolution,” so as to make themselves still wealthier, and further tighten their control, through blockchain technology, AI, total surveillance.

”HERE’s Cory taking us through all that she’s elucidated through her must-read investigative series, which you can find at http://www.wrongkindofgreen.org. The very telling silences that Cory notes throughout the “climate movement” also tell us something about BLM/Antifa, who say nothing about class, or the economy, or the war machine, which just keeps grinding on throughout this crisis, further poisoning the planet, and bombing peoples of color, and destabilizing their societies, while everybody here is shouting ‘Black lives matter!’

“MCM

”p.s. Cory has a very interesting take on Jeff Gibbs’s [documentary film] “Planet of the Humans,” and Michael Moore’s regressive use of it.”

Another view deserving of a careful reading is THIS ONE by Chris Hedges, titled “The Treason of the Ruling Class: They have destroyed our capitalist democracy and replaced it with a Mafia state.”

Who is Hedges? Two bios are HERE and HERE.

If you would like to remotely take in a church service for today, put together in advance by a team at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, click HERE or HERE. The four readings were written in their own languages by, I’m guessing, some privileged people of their times, thousands of years ago.

The quote up top from Matthew is from one of today’s readings. It reminded me of Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968).

The guest preacher read Matthew 10:24-39 before his sermon, which was about, among other things, nature. A retired Episcopal priest, he is apparently a product of white privilege, as are Miller (no blood relation to me), Morningstar, Hedges, and myself.

More Notes

Yesterday’s entry on Juneteenth was limited to the views of two people whose words online only went so far. One of them concentrated on inner change, largely slighting what can be done when humans acting together can effect broad, positive structural change. The other focused on massive violence and cruel acts carried out by celebrated historical figures and on the blindness and hypocrisies about it.

On the other hand, yesterday’s and today’s issues of the the Berkshire Eagle, contain articles about the future. For instance:

“Berkshire youths’ march will focus on racial equality” is the Friday page 1 headline over an article in which one of the organizers talks about suppressing his own feelings about racist incidents he experienced as a high schooler. “Change is occurring right now,” he said. “People are seeing that things have to change.” Racist police brutality is only one item on the agenda. The march, organized by three males ages 26, 20, and 16, takes place this Sunday (which is also Fathers Day). It’s roughly a mile and a half long and includes a roster of speakers at the end.

* “Move afoot in Mass. to make Juneteenth a state holiday,” reads the headline over a detailed story by a local reporter.

* “Amid protests for racial justice, Juneteenth gets new renown” is the headline over THIS national Associated Press story in today’s Eagle.

* Less obvious as a story concerning racial decisions ahead for Pittsfield public schools is the top page 1 article today, headed “A split in learning eyed in the fall.” The schools superintendent said a likely scenario with caronavirus in mind is that some students are in schools and others stay at home and learn remotely through computers and the Internet. How students who are already disadvantaged would be affected was not part of the article.

Love and Justice

Today is Juneteenth. What does that have to do with 9/11 truth, the main purpose of this blog and the walk that began it? Plenty.

Lies perpetuated over decades and centuries have lent themselves to injustices that continue today. Thanks to witnesses with cellphones, police killings can be widely exposed within minutes.

Government lies concerning the mass murder of Sept. 11, 2001, hid the basic facts of that atrocity and led to the carnage and destruction and waste that followed.

On this day, Juneteenth, two activists with different approaches may show some of the way out.

HERE is part of a 2017 presentation by the Rev. angel Kyodo williams that has been titled “Love and Justice Are Not Two.” It is introduced Richard Rohr of the Center for Action and Contemplation.

HERE is a piece titled “Goodbye, Columbus” by Margaret Kimberley of Black Agenda Report.

“Love and justice are not two,” angel Kyodo williams says. “Without inner change there can be no outer change. Without collective change, no change matters.”

Her passage ends with what she calls the Warrior-Spirit Prayer of Awakening, written “in response to the events of September 11th.”

Margaret Kimberley singles out Churchill, Columbus and King Leopold of Belgium as underrecognized for their racist savagery:

“The perpetrators of crimes against humanity are often elevated to positions of respect and admiration. It all depends on who did the killing and who was killed. Now the murderers are being called to account.”

Statues coming down are one sign of change this year. The exposing of long-tolerated police brutality is another. These could be steps toward a better world with yet-unforeseen transformative changes.

A Few Notes

The following relate to the last two entries.

* Regarding yesterday’s, headed “News Breakthrough,” at least three things are worth noting:

(a) In a 2017 opinion piece occasioned by the University of Alaska Fairbanks engineering department’s then-ongoing study of the WTC Building 7 collapse on Sept. 11, 2001, writer Dermot Cole of the Anchorage Daily News couldn’t resist loading it up with highly suspect elements of the phony government narrative; a feeble attack on AE911Truth founder Richard Gage; and general all-purpose junk about conspiracy theorists. Maybe it was the only way Cole could get anything in the paper on 9/11 truth. He did spell Gage’s name correctly.

(b) In a 2019 report, “Fire did not cause World Trade Center Building 7 to collapse, UAF study suggests,” KTVA reporter Liz Raines stuck to the facts about that engineering study led by Prof. Leroy Hulsey. It’s worth looking at and reading.

(c) Even the Daily Commercial News article published this May 20 on the UAF study and AE911Truth’s filing of a Request for Correction with the National Institute for Standards and Technolody (NIST) for its report on the Building 7 collapse contained something that hasn’t been nailed down. Without attribution, it states that on Sept. 11, 2001, “two hijacked planes hit WTC 1 and WTC 2.” Oh, really? That’s far from proven, and it was NIST that reported on the Twin Towers’ miraculous collapses.

* Although they never met, the stars of “It Says Here …,” syndicated writer Curtis Honeycutt (“The Grammar Guy”) and Berkshire Eagle reporter (later managing editor) Thomas O. Morton have a least one other thing in common than appearing on page B2 last Sunday: a thorough grounding in correct English usage.

“Leave it lay where Jesus flang it,” Morton said more than once in the Eagle newsroom, in one breath illustrating three incorrect elements of the language and potentially riling any overly sensitive follower of Jesus present.

News Breakthrough

A Canadian construction industry online news outlet has given added life to the University of Alaska Fairbanks study of World Trade Center Building 7’s destruction that is key to exposing the impossible myths cloaking the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001.

Headlined “World Trade Center Building 7 did not collapse due to fire: Report,” the article and (so far) 97 comments, all HERE, are must reading, especially for those who find the long, technical UAF report itself challenging.

The final report by Prof. Leroy Hulsey and his team was released on March 25 after three months of public review.

The Daily Commercial News article about it came out on May 20–so far the only major journalistic coverage the UAF study has received in North America.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner is among the newspapers that have covered it.

Last Thursday, some PBS affiliates did start airing “Spotlight On: SEVEN,” a five-minute version of the full-length documentary “SEVEN” due out in September.

Of the highly readable comments by readers of the Daily Commercial News article, only five—three by the same person—are critical of the UAF study and Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, which funded it.

It Says Here . . .

Today’s papers and morning radio news had updates of Covid-19 and widespread protests against systemic racism (and counter protests). Two seemingly unrelated offerings on a quiet inside page of the Berkshire Eagle were at least inadvertently about both things as well as attacks in the United States nearly 19 years ago.

In one, headed “It’s time to open up,” syndicated columnist Curtis Honeycutt begins, “I don’t know about you, but I’m a bit of a volcano when it comes to feelings and emotions.”

Honeycutt examines the expressions opening up Pandora’s box and open a can of worms. For me, his short column applies to all three international phenomena.

The other page B2 item, by the late Thomas O. Morton, is under the headline: “GE engineers put on spectacular show re-enacting Franklin’s kite experiment.”

Morton was at a 1952 media event at General Electric’s “high-voltage laboratory here in Pittsfield — the world’s largest man-made lightning center” in which engineers “had an enjoyable two hours playing Benjamin Franklin….

”For the benefit of TV, newsreel and press service cameras they hurled 6,000,000-volt lightning bolts at a kit to present the first successful re-enactment of Franklin’s experiment to prove lightning is a form of electricity.”

The reporter quotes from the company’s news release about the demonstration, prepared well in advance, and shows how some facts on the ground differed from what the news release depicted. The engineers’ second try “made the cameramen very happy.”

Together, the two page B2 items (a link to the second will be added when it becomes available) are relevant to all three 21st-century historical events.

* Honeycutt, perhaps intentionally, illustrates the anger being played out around the world over racist policies and denial thereof. He may also be commenting that Americans have had it up to here with President Trump’s responses to the coronavirus pandemic.

* Morton relates how GE engineers, on the 200th anniversary of Franklin’s lightning experiment, put on an imperfect show, then quickly repeated it to gibe with the company’s prepared news release so the visuals would play for moviegoers watching it in newsreels as well as for viewers in living rooms watching it on black-and-white TVs. The science was sound, the staging—initially—was off.

* Together, the two writers demonstrate the power of narrative and the dangers inherent in decisionmakers’ wrong decisions, which can include efforts to pull the wool over the public’s eyes and even pulling it over their own eyes. The results can be volcanic, and electrifying.

In the case of the U.S. government Executive Branch’s science-defying narrative about the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people on that day and many, many more later in the United States and in wars abroad, the international revulsion over the mass murder may be magnified by the U.S. government’s coverup combined with years of compliance by virtually all news media in going along with it.

Like the GE lightning show, the attacks of September 2001 were, among other things, a “spectacular show,” made for TV consumption. Whoever was primarily responsible and however they did it, various pieces of the truth have been moving the tectonic plates of public conscious for nearly two decades, leading to … what?

Talk about a can of worms.

PBS Starts Airing WTC7 Mini-Doc

Some PBS television stations yesterday began offering viewers the five-minute version of “SEVEN,” a new documentary about the findings of the University of Alaska Fairbanks study on the destruction of World Trade Center Building 7.

“Spotlight On: SEVEN” will be shown off and on for at least three months on the PBS affiliates that use it as needed between longer shows.

Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth, which funded the study and raised money for these PBS showings, estimates that 3 million-plus viewers will have a look.

First Comes Fear

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught up in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly. — Martin Luther King, Jr., quoted in a letter by the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court

–   –   –

“First comes anger, which begets protests, and then legislation.”

So begins the top editorial in yesterday’s Republican, the daily newspaper in Springfield, Massachusetts, about the proposed Justice in Policing Act of 2020 in Congress.

“That’s how things can proceed when the system is working properly. Thankfully, there are signs that it may be working properly now.”

The editorial is headed “Policing bill solid step at this time.” It’s a good one. Look it up and read it all.*

So is the second editorial, headed “Is Goodell’s apology too late?” It notes that Colin Kaepernick, the San Francisco 49ers quarterback who in 2016 was the first National Football League player to “take a knee,” setting a national example, “has been out of a job with the NFL ever since.” Its prose is accompanied by a head shot of blond-haired blue-eyed Roger Goodell. Who is he, what did he apologize for, and in what context? Look it up and read it all.

But the commentary you are reading, by a 9/11 truth obsessive, begins with the words “First comes anger, which begets protests ….”

Unlike Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer now charged with two counts of murder in the Memorial Day death of George Floyd, the perpetrators of the attacks that killed nearly 3,000 people in September 2001, carefully planned the “9/11” mass murder. The planning likely took place over years.

The anger that welled up in this country over the attacks was channeled into a series of United States-led wars victimizing millions of people who had nothing to do with the attacks—if indeed the alleged Arab and Muslim “masterminds” and underlings involved had anything to do with them other than as manipulated patsies.

Critically, that anger was preceded by fear. Fear of the other, of Arabs and Muslims, was the driving force for those wars. Fear and loathing (to borrow from the late Hunter S. Thompson) was part of the perpetrators’ recipe, part of the required psychological mass manipulation for the murder and mayhem to follow.

The long-awaited correction in policing in this country appears to have local, state and national backing. There is a good deal that is “bipartisan” in it, attracting Republicans as well as Democrats not to mention independents who want nothing to do with either of the major parties.

This cry for correction involves all three branches of government. In Massachusetts the Supreme Judicial Court released a letter last week from all seven of its member to the Commonwealth’s bar and judiciary decrying racism in the judicial system. Headed “We must do more than express feeling of sadness and anger,” it calls for systemic change rather than mere reflection, pointing to “the legacy of slavery, of Jim Crow, and of the disproportionate incarceration of African-Americans … and the untruths and unfair stereotypes about African-Americans that have been used to justify or rationalize their repression.” Look it up.

Reprinted in a number of newspapers, the statement was the subject of a letter to the editor of The Berkshire Eagle headed “Local bar association takes stand against racism.” Look it up.

Contrast this overdue response to a series of police killings of unarmed black people with the years of non-response by government and news media to mounting evidence of the impossibilities in official narratives about the murderous September 2001 attacks. The non-response is “bipartisan” in the executive and judicial branches of the federal government.

When the U.S. Senate voted unanimously in a resolution calling for declassification of documents related to the September 2001 attacks, as it did in September 2018 ( See https://x-ma911truthwalk.com/just-one-more-thing ), the action went uncovered, unanimously, by the news media.

Likewise with legal actions painstakingly advanced before the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York and the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., the actions are deemed not newsworthy by a seemingly muzzled “free press.”

Cameras Everywhere

The other night we watched “King of Thieves,” an instructive and entertaining movie about a notable 2015 heist in London. It starred some of the senior royalty of male British actors as aged career criminals, of whom Michael Caine is by far the best known in this country. Critics roundly panned it. A waste of two hours. Etc.

It was based on a 2016 Vanity Fair magazine piece by Mark Seal titled “How a Ragtag Gang of Retirees Pulled Off the Biggest Jewel Heist in British History.” Look it up. A beautiful writing and reporting job, probably even more enjoyable if one has seen the movie first.

What struck me as a 9/11 truth obsessive was the clusters of close-up shots of surveillance cameras recording the old robbers in any number of locations as they go about preparing for the multimillion-pound holiday weekend theft at Hutton Garden Safe Deposit and incriminating themselves in the days afterwards.

Surveillance cameras weren’t the only tools the police had going for them, but they provided the first clues.

–   –   –

Fourteen years before, surveillance cameras captured what was (or wasn’t) happening on Sept. 11, 2001, before, during and after the 9/11 attacks, but some of the recordings are among the considerable evidence the FBI and the Justice Department has withheld from the public.

–   –   –

Days ago, onlookers wielding cellphone cameras captured George Floyd’s asphyxiation death at the hands of four Minneapolis police officers, and authorities could not round up and withhold all the video and audio evidence of the killing.

Hope Amid Despair

It’s an ill wind that blows no good. — Common saying, adapted

With this faith we will be able to hew out of the mountain of despair a stone of hope. — Martin Luther King, Jr. in 1963

We have known the long loneliness and we have learned that the only solution is love and that love comes with community. — Dorothy Day

As Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929-1968) observed, one of the most segregated hours in the United States still occurs on Sunday morning when we attend church services.  — Richard Rohr *

–   –   –

This is a blog that got started a bit before Bruce Henry and I started walking across Massachusetts from Provincetown to the New York State line in Hancock with “9/11 TRUTH” signs on our backpacks and chests in mid-April 2018. Visitors who have lots and lots of time while staying home self-quarantining can go back to the first entry and “virtually” walk that walk.

Truth is contagious. Many “truthers” who start out pointing to the many impossibilities of the government narratives surrounding the September 2001 attacks soon join those who for decades have pointed to the impossibilities of government narratives surrounding the assassinations of President Kennedy in November 1963 and of Martin Luther King, Jr., and Senator Robert Kennedy in April and June of 1968.

Those three high-profile 1960s murders were coup d’etats by assassination. Such coups had occurred before and have since, in the United States and elsewhere. They have nothing to do with democracy but are paid for with tax-payers’ dollars as are the subsequent cover-ups. The September 2001 attacks were a coup d’etat by mass murder. All were pinned on “patsies”—-Lee Harvey Oswald, James Earl Ray, Sirhan Sirhan, and Osama bin Laden and associates—-carefully cultivated over years before the acts. That most of the public at least for a time swallows the official line is testament to the invaluable roles played by compliant mainstream news and entertainment media including book publishers, and academia, all of which may as well be part of government.

People tend to “move on,” focus on more pressing matters of their lives even if logically they see they or their elders have been duped. Hence, “It is what it is.”

This year, responses to the deadly corocoronavirus pandemic and to the police killing of George Floyd, and responses to governments’ inadequate or wrong response, dominate “the news” and consciousness. And this pushes the realities of those coup d’etats further into obscurity.

“Every informed person is aware that elements of the U.S. government were involved in either the perpetuation or a coverup of the 9/11 attacks,” Paul Craig Roberts wrote a year and a half ago. “Although the United States is allegedly a democracy with a rule of law, it has taken 17 years for public pressure to bring about the first grand jury investigation of 9/11.”

Oops! The U.S Attorney for the Southern District of New York may be still stonewalling, as there is no sign that the requested grand jury investigation is under way. And the federal court in Washington, D.C., is still stonewalling on public pressure to declassify a mountains of 9/11 evidence withheld by the FBI and the Justice Department. Meanwhile, this country’s “free press” gives the legal efforts zero coverage.
