Readers have until about 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2019, to download for free the draft report by Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF), on the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7 on Sept. 11, 2001. The final report will be published after a two-month comment period open to the public.
Briefly, the draft report says the 47-story skyscraper, which was not reported to have been struck by a jetliner that day, could not have been brought down by office fires. Like the Twin Towers nearby, however, Building 7 collapsed into its own footprint as if by controlled demolition.
